I’m Zach Infante, an educator and administrator running for my hometown Board of Education in Roselle Park, NJ. I'm the child of two hard working parents and sibling to sister who in the past few years became a mother. I attended Roselle Park schools from elementary to high school before receiving my degree at New York University. I’m committed to the enrichment and learning experience of all our young people, their families, educators, and staff. My campaign is built on the following principles:

  • Prioritizing the mental and physical health of our students.

  • Establishing a more inclusive curriculum that celebrates the diversity of our students.

  • Examining ways we can encourage more diverse hiring practices.

  • I am committed to building a better future for all of our students but I cannot build that future alone.  A donation of any dollar amount will help me create lawn signs, send postcards out to voters, and assist in the creation of social media promotions.  Let's stay inspired, let's stay in touch, and together, let's create a better, more hopeful future.

Candidacy for Roselle Park Board of Education

    Monday July 27th, 2020

    Hello y’all!

I’m Zach Infante, an educator and administrator running for my hometown Board of Education in Roselle Park, NJ. I’m the child of a Puerto Rican mother, Dominican father and sibling to a successful sister. I grew up in Roselle Park’s Fifth Ward and attended Aldene School, Roselle Park Middle School, and served as my Senior Class President at Roselle Park High School (‘09). My involvement in our community began at a young age. My dad brought me to the public library regularly, I played recreational sports, and I attended and eventually counseled at Roselle Park Summer Camp.

The Roselle Park School District prepared me to succeed academically as well as artistically. I went on to attend New York University, receive a BFA in Drama, and I took special interest in the Child Adolescent Mental Health Program during my studies. I’ve gone on to work in numerous arts education programs and currently serve as the Director of Youth Outreach for The Future Perfect Project, a non-profit organization that serves LGBTQ+ youth and believes that the artistic expression of young people is a declaration of a better future for us all. As an educator I know how important it is to build teams that collaborate with and support each other. As an administrator I see how essential efficiency, transparency, and compassion are to a healthy working environment.

I’m committed to the enrichment and learning experience of all our young people, their families, educators, and staff. I intend to, in efforts with our community, examine ways we can encourage diversity in hiring practices, make our curriculum more inclusive, and ensure that our district is safe for people of all backgrounds. We're facing an unprecedented health crisis in our community, and I'm committed to the mental and physical health of our students first and foremost. It’s my pledge to continue to practice integrity, honesty, and to remain teachable throughout this race.

    Sincerely,

    Zach Infante

    The Future Perfect Project

    July 1st, 2020

I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be serving as the Director of Youth Outreach for The Future Perfect Project. The Future Perfect Project believes that the artistic expression of young people is a declaration of a better future for us all. By making safe spaces for LGBTQ+ Youth & Allies to express themselves through the arts, connect with one another, and amplify their voices, FPP is creating a future where every young person feels safe, seen, and celebrated in their home and community.

My responsibilities include connecting our organization to LGBTQ+ organizations and building programs to serve our youth across the country. It's my commitment to foster new relationships and build relationships so that we may reach a wider range of young people. We provide free arts programming and host a weekly interview series with experts in their fields. So far, I've had the great privilege of interviewing Tony Nominee Caitlin Kinnunen (The Prom), Becca Brown (School of Rock Film) and Bob the Drag Queen. John Leguizamo's KISS MY AZTEC at Berkeley Repertory Theater and La Jolla Playhouse

    July & August 2019

This fresh, irreverent musical comedy could only spring forth from the clever and culturally savvy mind of John Leguizamo (who seriously schooled Berkeley Rep audiences with Latin History for Morons). With an energetic musical fusion of salsa, Latin boogaloo, hip-hop, gospel, funk, and merengue, and an inspired mash-up of Elizabethan dialect and modern slang, Kiss My Aztec! celebrates, elevates, and commemorates Latinx culture.

European conquest? Hell, no! It may be the 16th century in Spanish-occupied Mesoamerica, but these Aztecs is woke. Led by the unlikely duo of Colombina (a fierce female warrior) and Pepe (a not-so-fierce clown), they mount a scrappy resistance against their Spanish oppressors—and somehow get entangled in the dysfunctional dynamics of the Spanish viceroy’s bickering family. Will our heroes get conquistadored by whitey or win the day?

ALICE BY HEART at MCC Theater

    1/28/2019

In the rubble of the London Blitz of World War II, Alice Spencer’s budding teen life is turned upside down, and she and her dear friend Alfred are forced to take shelter in an underground tube station. When the ailing Alfred is quarantined, Alice encourages him to escape with her into their cherished book and journey down the rabbit hole to Wonderland.

As they travel through the tale, ALICE BY HEART explores the poignancy of first love, coming to terms with loss, and finding the courage to move forward. This world premiere musical encourages us all to celebrate the transformational power of the imagination, even in the harshest of times.

KISS MY AZTEC with John Leguizamo

    August 11, 2018

This was an experience I've been praying for since seeing John in Moulin Rouge back in the day. Our entire team, from crew to cast was stellar and I'm so grateful to apart of it's development.

Kiss My Aztec! features a book by John Leguizamo and Tony Taccone, music by Benjamin Velez, and lyrics by David Kamp, Velez, and Leguizamo. The musical is based on an original screenplay by Leguizamo and Stephen Chbosky.

With a musical fusion of bolero, hip hop, merengue, and rap, and a mashup of 16th century and modern slang, Kiss My Aztec! celebrates, elevates, and commemorates Latinx culture. Led by the unlikely duo of Colombina (a feminist warrior/rapper) and Pepe (a clown)—and empowered by a prophecy promising a new leader called the Great Brown Hope—they plot to overthrow their Spanish colonizers. Along the way they collide with an evil Viceroy, his inbred millennial daughter, and an absurd trio of singing Spanish Inquisitors.

FARMED: A Live Podcast Album at Joe's Pub

    May 11, 2018

It was an amazing opportunity to produce this show!

Composer and vocalist Trevor Bachman kicks off his U.S. tour of FARMED: A Live Podcast Album. Described by the NY Times as "musically and vocally rich" and noted for his "soulful vocals", Bachman combines live interview with heart-pounding beats, electric harmonies, and an earth-shaking choir of voices. Sourcing interviews from audiences in cities around the country, FARMED bridges distant communities through conversation and song. All concerts are live studio events, and recorded for podcast.
